Plot
The events of this dramatic story take place in the United States in the early 80s of the last century. A Korean family consisting of parents and two children comes to a small American town in search of a better life. The head of the house, Jacob, dreams of his own farm, where he can grow vegetables from his homeland and raise chickens to later sell to immigrants from Asia. He constantly makes plans and is ready for any sacrifice, just to achieve what he wants.
His wife Monica does not share her husband's views too much. It seems to her that in pursuit of his dream, Jacob is increasingly moving away from his family. It is difficult for a woman to adapt to a society whose value system is complex and incomprehensible. And, if not for the help of the members of the local church community, who are very sympathetic to the new residents, the heroine would have had a hard time.
Adding problems to Monica and children, especially David, who suffers from heart disease. Large sums of money have to be spent on his treatment, which Jacob prefers to invest in the household. The gap between spouses is growing. Will they be able to withstand difficult conditions and keep the family?
