Amazon Studios is transforming Yoko Ogawa's 1994 novel Memory Police into a feature film. The project is directed by Reed Morano and adapted by Charlie Kaufman. Information about the trailer and release date of the movie "Memory Police" is expected in 2021.
Plot
On an unnamed island off an unnamed coast, things began to mysteriously disappear: first, little things - hats, ribbons, birds, roses, photographs ... Most residents do not pay attention to these changes, while those few who can remember the lost objects live in fear in front of the Memory Police, which is determined to erase the memories of the missing items.
When the young writer realizes that her editor is one of those who can still remember something, she comes up with a plan. The woman hides it in the room under the floorboards. They defiantly fight for the truth in order to preserve memories of the past.
