About the plot
At the center of the story is Dex Pario, a female Marine Corps veteran based in Portland, Oregon. She suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), has a brother with Down syndrome and is trying to pay off huge debts due to her addiction to gambling. Dex was unable to find a permanent job that could bring her a regular income. Therefore, in order to survive and pay her debts, she takes on the duties of a private detective in order to eliminate unresolved problems with the local police.
In the first season, Dex takes on a missing girl case, tracks down an escaped prisoner facing a death sentence, and helps a writer. In the second season, Dex is expected to unravel a slew of equally exciting crime cases.
In the most recent scene, a flustered Ansel opened the front door of a long-lost mother, whose appearance stunned Dex. In fact, viewers don't see Mom in the season 1 finale. This is likely to be the focus of much of the second season. We can find out what happened that these parents decided to leave their son in the care of their second child.
