“- What is this song? - "The dead don`t die" by Sturgil Simpson.
- I heard her somewhere
- This is the soundtrack to the film "... (c) the main characters
I saw the film "The Dead Don't Die" in many selections, but every time something stopped me before watching. He is just as adorable and as beautiful as ever.
Jarmusch also frightened off - after all, he is very specific and "fits" far from every mood. And it was amazing! I haven't met such a wonderful comedy with black-black humor for a long time!
"Password for free Wi-fi," says another zombie and devours the owner of the hotel. And he speaks, in principle, in the voice of the entire modern generation, if you understand what I mean.
And here is Iggy Pop (no, no, this is not a typo - Iggy Pop plays a zombie in a zombie movie, and it seems he doesn't even need makeup), finishing his prey, draws out a drawn-out: "Kooofeeeee". The half-insane vagabond in his performance fits so harmoniously into what is happening on the screens that you want to clap your hands and shout: "Bravo".
Heck! It's been a long time since I got such lazy and slow pleasure from a movie. BUT! I recommend it only to those who are very fond of cinema in the style of "so bad it is already good."
In one of the reviews it was beautifully written that someone would see this viscouszombie-the apocalypse is a mess, a mishmash and a director who has written up, and someone will see a wonderful mockery of the projects created over the past decades and society in general. Causing a big smile to the very end.
It is a film entirely and purposefully crafted out of clichés and mocking the viewer right up to the credits. After all, if you think about it, this is not just a story about how a small American town is fighting against those who have risen from the dead. -fi "and" coffee "...
The characters literally scatter phrases that make me want to smile, and which I personally will go to the people. Sheriff Bill Murray, zombie Iggy Pop, farmer Steve Buscemi, police officer Chloe Sevigny and hipster Selena Gomez ... Not enough stars per square centimeter of film? OK. Let's add more Rosie Perez, Adam Driver and Tilda Swinton.
The sound performer drags the guitar along with him, and Swinton parodies Uma Thurman and flies away ... Although, what am I talking about, I will not retell the most interesting, and let others wonder at the absurdity and find interesting coincidences with other films.
Jim Jarmusch is great. Probably, few people expected a gripping zombie apocalypse from him, even the most ardent fans.
Details about the film
After watching the film, I decided to read about the filming, and, judging by the comments of the actors, they also got an incredible thrill from the process. I even thought that in order to play such illustrative caricatures, you need to have two things: remarkable acting talent and a subtle sense of humor.
And “The Dead Don't Die” is unambiguous, and it seems to me that I will gladly review this film once more with time, and maybe not even one.
"- How did you know that everything would end badly?"
- I read the script to the end.
“Jim didn't show me. How could he ?? "
