The 27-year-old Romanian sculptor Constantin Brancusi made his way from Romania to France, from Bucharest to Paris, in 1903 and 1904 to become the most important sculptor of the 20th century.
Plot
Brancusi leaves his small village of Hobita, south of the Carpathians, and travels through Romania, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Switzerland and parts of France to arrive in Paris, the capital of world culture for the first three decades of the 1900s. He walks in the spring, summer, winter and fall, lives in the wilderness, explores the sights, finds adventures, experiences difficulties, looks, touches and feels the world as preparation for what lies ahead. The film features many versions of some of Brancusi's later sculptures.
