One of the best Stephen King novels has turned into a mini-series. Confrontation is a post-apocalyptic project about America after the flu epidemic that wiped out 99% of the population. An elderly African American clairvoyant, played by Whoopi Goldberg, is creating a group of like-minded people. Their opponent will be Randall Flagg, the fascist messiah and one of the main villains of the King's epic "The Dark Tower" (aka the Man in Black). Previously, Confrontation was already filmed as a mini-series of four episodes in the 1990s, but the timing was clearly not enough: it is still King's most voluminous book with many characters and story arcs. Writer and director Josh Boone, who is a big fan of the original, is responsible for the new film adaptation. In 2020, a trailer was released, the exact release date of the series "Confrontation" has already been announced, the plot is based on the novel of the legendary King, the actors are known.
Expectations rating - 97%.
Plot
A deadly virus is leaking at a secret laboratory. The entire state perishes right at the workplace, but only one of the guards along with his wife and child miraculously survives. However, his release from the base costs the lives of thousands of people - the virus is outgrowing a terrible epidemic. The plague is spreading at a terrible rate across America and kills almost everyone in the United States and beyond, turning everything in its path into a lifeless desert. Among the few who survived, a split occurred: someone remained faithful to the old ideals and principles, and someone joined the mysterious Man in Black, striving for world domination.
