Plot
In search of a better life, the Titov family returns from Moscow to their native land - the city of Izluchinsk. But here, too, the Titovs do not find happiness, but only get involved in a strange criminal story. Immediately upon the arrival of the family, the body of a murdered ferryman is found in the city. But Nadia, the main character of the series, is accused of his murder. After spending several years in prison, the girl returns to ordinary life and becomes a new ferryman.
Place of production and decoration
The filming of the series "The Ferryman" began in 2019. The project was directed by Maxim Demchenko (Guardian Angel, High School Students, Second First Love). And its premiere took place on the Russia -1 TV channel on March 30, 2020.
It is impossible to say unequivocally in which city the main shooting was carried out. After all, the series was filmed in several locations at once: in Veliky Novgorod and in Novaya Derevnya, a settlement in the Novgorod region. By the way, it took a very long time to choose a place for production. The film crew required the location of the filming to be adjacent to a small reservoir, and the nature around had to be picturesque.
Maxim Demchenko says:

What river was the shooting on? The place where the episodes were filmed in the town of Izluchinsk, as well as the footage with the ferry, was the village of Maly Volkhovets. It is near this village that the camp of the film crew is located. The authorities of the Novgorod region actively helped to implement the project, removed administrative barriers and showed initiative.
It didn't take long to create the scenery - for example, the movie ferry was built in just a few days. Also, a pier and a stop were erected in a short time. But the weather did not favor the filmmakers. How the guys filmed in such bad weather conditions is still unclear. The sky was covered with black clouds all the time, and at times it rained all day. Make-up and costume designers were ready for anything, and therefore brought things both in warm weather and in cold weather.
