HBO has its eyes on yet another adaptation of the famous bestseller. The channel is developing the Sphere drama series based on the science fiction novel of the same name by Michael Crichton. The producers are the creators of the "World of the Wild West". The project is a joint production of Kilter Films, Team Downey and Warner Bros. TV. The plot and crew of the Sphere series are already known, the trailer and release date are expected in 2021.
Official synopsis
The series plunges us a thousand feet into the depths of the ocean, where a group of scientists confront the surreal, beautiful and deadly mysteries of the universe and discovers that the people closest to us may be the strangers.
A team of scientists was tasked with studying a massive, mysterious spaceship discovered in the Pacific Ocean. The more they learn about the ship, which is perfectly preserved and which, in all likelihood, is 300 years old, the clearer it becomes that it is associated with an intellect that is beyond human comprehension.
