- Rating: KinoPoisk - 8.3, IMDb - 8.1
- Director: Peter Weir
This is a story about a man who grew up and lived an ordinary life, but which without his knowledge was broadcasted around the clock to a multi-million audience. In the end, he finds out the truth and decides to run away, but this is not as easy as it seems.
Truman Burbank is the unsuspecting star of The Truman Show. He spent his entire life in the seaside town of Sehaven Island. The site is located in the mountains near Hollywood and is equipped with the latest technology to simulate day and night, as well as various weather conditions. There are 5,000 cameras that record Truman's every move, and the number is increasing every year. The producers dissuade the man from leaving Sehaven, instilling him in aquaphobia. All other Sehaven residents, including his friends, wife, mother, show creator and executive producer, seek to capture Truman's true emotions and subtle mood swings to give viewers a closer look at the character. Despite the illusory control, it is not possible to predict all of Truman's actions.
The show continues and when the 10,000th day of work expires, the man begins to notice unusual phenomena and inconsistencies: a searchlight beam falling from the sky, a radio frequency that accurately describes his movements, rain that falls only on him. Over time, Truman becomes even more suspicious and decides to escape from his world ...
