Plot
The film tells about the feat of Russian scientists at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, who are sent to Spitsbergen as part of a Russian-Swedish expedition to obtain data on the real size and shape of the planet Earth. Until the middle of the 20th century, the model of the globe, calculated by the Russian astronomer A.S. Vasiliev, was the only world standard of its kind. In the film, viewers will find not only a story about the ambitious task of fearless scientists, survival in the deadly conditions of the Arctic, but also a love story.

The script for the film was written with the participation of Mikhail Malakhov, director of the Polar Meridian project. It was his team who managed to repeat the route in 2014-2016, having covered the entire path of a scientific expedition in degree measurement and in fact repeated the feat of Russian scientists who set up a polar experiment in 1898-1902. The results of their work were sent to the international commission of UNESCO.
