Story line
Wealthy man Maximillian de Winter recently lost his beloved wife Rebecca. He arrives in Monte Carlo, where he meets Mrs. Van Hopper and her young companion. Gradually, Maximillian is so carried away by the girl that in the end he decides to marry. Together with the newly minted Mrs. de Winter, he returns to his estate in Cornwall. But the memory of his first wife, Rebecca, still haunts the house, and the wily housewife, Mrs. Danvers, begins to harass the owner's new wife. In the house, the girl begins to pursue and suppress the presence of Rebecca, which she finds in absolutely everything.
