The new film Vesuri transports the viewer to the summer of 1941, to a friendly world that will soon be destroyed by war. The picture seems to be divided into two parts: a peaceful life with village fun and a concentration camp with its cruelty, hunger and injustice. The plot is fictional, however, it is based on the memories of juvenile prisoners of Finnish camps. The creators relied on materials from the archives of the National Museum of Karelia, as well as the memories of the participants in those events. Plot
A little-known page in the history of the Great Patriotic War - the hard days of the occupation of Soviet Karelia by the Finns. The war became a difficult test for everyone, but especially for children. The story is based on the memories of juvenile prisoners of Finnish resettlement camps.

- The working title of the picture is "Petka". During the filming, the main character changed, so the film became known as Vesuri.
- Vesuri (stress on the first syllable) is a Karelian-Finnish instrument used to clean young growth.
- When writing the script, the creators studied not only the documentation from the archives, but also the memories of the relatives of producer Alexander Tyutryumov, whose mother and grandmother were prisoners of Finnish camps.
- Actors for the main roles were sought in Karelia, auditions were held in Petrozavodsk. The bully Vaska, a negative character, was played by Yegor Petrov, a young artist and schoolboy from the village of Kivach.
