Plot
The main character of the story, Marie Gilbert, moves with her three daughters to Long Island. The woman is sure that in the new place they will all change for the better. But instead of the expected joyful events in the family, tragedy occurs. Under strange circumstances, the heroine's eldest daughter Shannon disappears.
Mrs. Gilbert turns to the local police department for help, but the detectives are not going to take up the investigation. They assure the distraught woman that her girl just ran away, deciding to become independent.
Marie does not agree with this conclusion of the police and takes up the investigation herself. Soon she manages to find out information that Shannon is not the first missing girl in the area, but high-ranking persons associated with sexual slavery are involved in the case.
The police are trying to put pressure on the heroine and force her to stop the investigation. But the woman is determined to get to the bottom of the truth. Other families come to her aid, in which their daughters also disappeared.
