His documentary project, which tells about different periods of the cultural and historical development of China, was included in the competition program of this Berlinale. About the plot
The main characters of the tape are well-known and recognized writers in their homeland Pingwa Jia, Yu Hua and Liang Hong. They were born in different years, belong to different eras and have experienced a variety of trials. During the book festival, writers talk about their literary and life experiences in front of the camera without any strain or drawing. Through the prism of their memories, a clear picture is built, reflecting the stages of development of Chinese culture over the course of seven decades.
Against the background of magnificent field shooting, shots from the history of the PRC gradually pass before the audience, starting from the mid-50s of the last century. And they are not always rosy. In their monologues, the heroes very frankly talk about some of the hard-hitting facts and events that they had to face in different periods.
