The new sports project, tentatively titled "Mister Knockout", tells the story of the great boxer of the Soviet Union Valery Popenchenko. Viktor Horinyak will appear in the role of Popenchenko, and Sergei Bezrukov will play his coach, no less great and legendary Grigory Filippovich Kusikyants. The premiere of the movie "Mr. Knockout" is scheduled for 2020, but so far without an exact release date and trailer. Actors, production details, plot and crew have been announced.
Plot
The plot revolves around the performance of the USSR national boxing team at the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo, or rather, the main contender for the gold medal, Valeria Popenchenko. The boxer was nicknamed "Mr. Knockout" and was the only winner of the Val Barker Cup (the award for the most technical boxer in the Olympic Games) from the Land of the Soviets. His career ended with 213 fights, 200 of which he won.
