Season 1
Season 2 plot
The books are set in a multiverse permeated with mystical Dust - a kind of analogue of divine power, which many have long been studying, trying to use for their own purposes and even destroy.
In the season 1 finale, Will and Lear went through portals to parallel universes. The second season will tell you how they will enter a new world with their own laws and frightening threats. The Magisterium, witches and Mrs Coulter will play key roles, as will new characters from Will's world, as well as new fantasy creatures.
The second season adapts Thin Knife, Pullman's second book in the original trilogy.
