The new American TV series "Y: The Last Man" is based on a series of sci-fi comics about Yorick Brown (2002), the sole survivor of a mysterious epidemic that destroyed all living things on Earth with a Y chromosome. Now that women rule the world, Yorick must team up with Agent 355 and Dr. Allison Mann to figure out how they can repopulate Earth. For a long time, the project was developed as a film, but was eventually abandoned, because the hero's story could not fit into one two-hour picture. Until the exact release date of the series has been announced and the trailer for the series "Y: The Last Man" (2021) has not appeared.

Plot
As a result of a monstrous epidemic, all carriers of the Y chromosome on Earth were destroyed, with the exception of Yorick and his assistant, the Capuchin monkey Ampersand. The world is in chaos, only women survived, and now they are trying with all their might to adapt to life in a new reality. Yorick goes to his mother, Senator, in Washington, and then begins to search for Beth's girlfriend, who was in Australia when the epidemic just began. Now the main character must find out why only he managed to survive and how they will now populate the Earth.

Interesting Facts
Did you know that:
- The project was originally planned as a New Line Cinema film in 2007 with DJ Caruso as director and David S. Goyer as producer. Caruso and Karl Ellsworth wrote the script, and Jeff Wintar made a few edits. Shia LaBeouf wanted to play the role of Yorick Brown, but declined, stating that Yorick was too similar to his transformer character Sam Whitwicky. Zachary Levy, who starred in the TV series "Chuck", showed interest in the role of Yorick, as he is a fan of the series of these comics. Even his character Chuck Bartowski read the graphic novel Y: The Last Man in the episode Chuck vs. Sampler Nacho. And Caruso wanted Alice Keys to play the role of Agent 355, and planned to use a real monkey, not CGI graphics.
- In 2012, Matthew Federman and Stephen Skaia entered into final negotiations to still direct the film after Caruso left the project. JC Spink, Chris Bender and David Goyer were appointed as producers, while Mason Novick and Jake Weiner were selected as executive producers. Dan Trachtenberg was hired to direct the film in 2013 before production was delayed.
- Barry Keoghan was originally supposed to play the role of Yorick Brown, but later left the project.
- Eliza Clarke was recruited to replace the original showrunners Aide Mashak Croal and Michael Green, who left the project due to "creative differences."
- The comic series consists of 60 issues. She received three Eisner Awards and the Hugo Award for Best Graphic Story for Y: The Last Man, Volume 10.
There is no exact release date for Y: The Last Man (2021) yet, but we hope to see a trailer and fresh filming news soon. The series is slated to premiere during the FX 2020-2021 TV season.
