The sequel "47 Ronin" has been launched and will be presented in the genre of cyber-punk with horror elements. The project was directed by Ron Yuan and distributed by the streaming service Netflix. 47 Ronin 2 already has a release date, but Universal's release schedule may still change. A trailer and an announcement for the cast are expected closer to 2021.
The plot of the 2nd part
The original film, released in 2013, was set in medieval Japan and was a fictional tale of the 47 ronin, a real-life group of 18th century samurai who set out to avenge the death of their master killed by a ruthless shogun.
The sequel takes place 300 years later in the exotic world of cyberpunk. The film is a fresh, reimagined take on the original tape and will include horror along with elements of modern samurai and ninja life.
