Rick Riordan, creator of the hit Percy Jackson series, is turning his Heirs of the Gods (or The Chronicles of Kane) series of books on Egyptian mythology into a Netflix feature film. The book explores the Egyptian gods in the modern world through the eyes of the teenage protagonists Carter and Sadie Kane, who are descendants of the pharaohs of Egypt, Narmer and Ramses the Great. The film "Heirs of the Gods" (2021) is in early stages of development, so there is no information yet on the exact release date, actors and trailer. Plot
The Heirs of the Gods trilogy introduces a host of new characters that draw inspiration from the history and mythology of Egypt. The main characters of this series of novels - Carter and Sadie Kane, brother and sister, are descendants of the Egyptian pharaohs Narmer and Ramses the Great.
Just like Percy Jackson, Carter and Sadie Kane must face legendary gods in the modern world. Percy Jackson has appeared as a minor character in three novels.

"Hey everyone, we are currently developing The Kane Chronicles as a movie for Netflix."
Meanwhile, on his website, Riordan revealed that the adaptation of the novel was the result of an agreement with Netflix from October 2019. At the same time, he and Disney Plus began negotiations to work on a television series from Percy Jackson and the Olympians:
“We've been working on the results of this agreement since last October, around the same time we started working on Percy Jackson. I am very glad to be able to announce this. That's all I can say at the moment. I look forward to further news, stay tuned. "
