Disney + is releasing another reimagining of the classic Cinderella story with the modern name Sneakerella. The film will be released as a hip-hop musical. The premiere is expected in 2021, the exact release date and trailer will be announced later.
Plot
A modern interpretation of Cinderella in the subculture of modern New York, where the heroine will turn into an African-American teenager - Al's guy who is obsessed with street sneakers. Al plans to make original sneakers, but the time has not come yet, and he still has to work in a warehouse.
The guy hides his talent from an indifferent stepfather and two dastardly half-brothers. They try to trample on any opportunity that comes along Al's path. When he meets the desperate and independent Kira King, daughter of legendary basketball star Darius King, a spark breaks out between the teens.
They are united not only by sympathy, but also by love for sneakers. Al then finds the courage to use his talent to pursue his dream of becoming a true sneaker designer in the fashion industry.
